A Little Sugar For Your Coffee

Updated: May 21, 2020

Hi!

My name is Aisha and welcome to Wisdom Strings.

Wisdom Strings will be

a place in which we can practice our skills of observation and reflection. We can look at how awareness and growth are essential to our connections with the people around us, and the people we have yet to meet. As the name suggests, we will be stringing together bits of wisdom from various platforms including: personal to academic and journalistic to literary.

The hope is

that the initial building constructed on self reflection pieces of formative childhood years, and tidbits of academic and professional interests, turn this page into digestible articles that pair well with whatever beverage you enjoy sipping.

As a heads up for what may come,

I am a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer and soon to be Social Anthropology postgraduate student with an undergraduate degree in Social Relations and Policy. I am a writer, reader, dancer and daydreamer who has been above all else an avid thinker. Almost everything I will write here will be a product of wisdom windows that have provoked everlasting thought.

What exactly is a wisdom window?

The answer is pretty simple. People. Moments of confusion, comedy, chaos, contentedness and complete simplicity have gathered reels of scenes in my head that call for self reflection even years after. I cannot say I always remember names or faces of those who have sparked thoughts that mirror the soft hued flames of candlestick wicks to raging volcanic bursts. Yet those sometimes nameless faceless remembrances are crucial to my consecutive recollection of what growth looks like in a singular life.

More on all of that to come.

So on that note,

I will say good morning/afternoon/evening/night.

Till next type.
